whats the official verdict? is the anti cheat working? is the game good and fun? The tutorial area was like an hour long of bullshit fetch quest garbage and when it finally ended I wandered off to a desert to find cool poo poo but i did not have a level 69 pick axe of mining so i couldnt get good rocks and turned it off.

I guess I'm thinking more of all that new land grab crap. I logged in for 5 minutes and found that there are 3 gvgs total when I looked because its alliance quest online. So I imagine if someone actually does take a territory in mercia they just send in 4 attacks making it impossible.

However, sadly the company has proven to stick to a PvP mentality which simply doesn't work and hasn't worked for nearly 20 years of gaming. What they came up with did not change the mold, and the game was on life support until this (FTP) last ditch effort was done. Again this post really isn't supposed to be negative, just the reality the developers refuse to admit. Also 5v5 was garbage from the get go, and while it has its place in AO, it isn't in the current implementation, nor will it ever be.

Errr -- are you advocating that they add safe PVE in this game beyond yellow zones? Isnt that sort of against the whole idea of the game?

I think he's saying the vast majority of untapped potential market for the game are things like Runescape players who want a safe, rewarding PVE experience. It may be against the whole idea of the game but if your idea isn't working to keep your company afloat maybe it was a bad idea to begin with.

On the other hand, runescape players are just going to play runescape. You're unlikely to wean them away to a new game regardless of what you do. "Maybe Albion should be Runescape" doesn't sound particularly feasible. Most of the existing systems would have to go entirely because they just don't function if there's nothing taking player gear out of the back end of the loop because people can do everything in perfect safety.

this game's biggest issues were a dwindling available playerbase and the removal of small gang viable ganking. the massive influx of people from f2p helps those issues as there are so many retarded foreigners with 600 ping feeding you infinite gear
