Who doesn't drive to DFW to get the dankest of the dank weed. Though many are sadly slain due to the extreme danger of buying weed from a guy, the potency is worth the effort.

At the time of his testimony, Brown said he was managing four Airbnb’s in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Dallas.

But apparently he also had time to deal weed in bulk out of the apartment he lived in across the hall from a cop.

ah, so the lack of character is actually a boon for dallas in some respects
Dallas is an authoritarian / oligarchical city that grew up on the back of white-collar paper industries. Wholesale merchandising, banking, insurance and later aerospace and tech and corporate HQs. The city doesn't have any discernible geographic features and does not have a navigable river. As Molly Ivins put it, Dallas got big by hustling and selling itself, and that top-down corporate culture filters down from there. Even the local restaurant chains feel corporate. It's just the style of the place. Houston people compare their city to Dallas, while Dallas people (the rich people who own everything anyways) compare themselves to New York and Chicago, and they are very insecure about that fact, so the Dallas elite try to mimic these other cities but it just comes across as trying to hard.

Houston at least has a port. San Antonio has some historical sights and a big military base and has a Tex-Mex culture. Austin is fully of NIMBYs but at least there's a big university and the state capitol.

Dallas for instance created its own mini-Times Square called Victory Park and has a NYE celebration there, which the local news broadcasts on T.V. instead of showing the one in the real Times Square. The Dallas Morning News, a rare big-city newspaper that is historically embedded in the Republican establishment (the Highland Park financial GOP establishment), would even run editorials sometimes seething that Austin would get more attention from SXSW that Dallas would get by hosting the Super Bowl. They concluded in one such editorial that the solution is to study other famous cities, and that it would be wise to create some cobblestone sidewalks because Helsinki has them, and Helsinki is rising in chic cities to pay attention to according to some other rich people.

The city spent $115 million on non-functional arches to make a bridge over the muddy, non-navigable Trinity River (designed by renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava) look like a suspension bridge, but it is not a suspension bridge. But the arches are hosed up and the suspension cables are breaking which is forcing costly repairs. This was also named for a wealthy heiress to the Texas Instruments fortune who collects Impressionist art and filled up the Dallas Museum of Art with it.

There is no reason for Dallas to exist. Accordingly, it never found a soul and lacks character.

It's just there, squatting over the plains, trying to impress, but coming off hollow.
