For my part: Their whole schtick is uncompromising contempt for humans as destructive, selfish, and cruel. My read of the lyrics is that it's forcing a cis man to experience dysphoria. Considering the amount of poo poo trans folx, particularly trans women, get from cis men in particular, a kind of "how do you loving like it, you piece of poo poo" revenge fantasy can be cathartic. I get it if you find it upsetting and that's fine.

The music video for Forced Gender Reassignment makes it pretty clear that that's what they were going for, and I (noting the same caveat that I am trans and can speak for no one but myself) think it's really cool to see explicit trans support from such a successful metal band (it's more than a bit misguided, but I'll take what I can get) Also definitely don't watch the music video unless for some reason you want to see those lyrics on full visual display.

That album cover is great! Reminds me of a fun little story I have... I went to 70,000 Tons of Metal for a few consecutive years, and on one of them Anvil was among the bands performing on the boat. I was riding an elevator between sets, and on the first stop, Lips happens to stumble on the elevator with me. I managed to smuggle my weed vape onboard, and knowing Lips was a huge stoner, I offered him a puff right then and there. He hadn’t seen one before, but once I informed him it was weed oil, he took the biggest, most desperate drag I’ve seen anyone take in my life. His eyes were bulging, his whole body was shaking, was probably hitting that one drag for the whole 30 second ride. He probably hadn’t smoked anything in days, so he was obviously excited. He thanked me as we got off and went our separate ways.

A lot of ghost appreciation in here. Are you aware that Ghost is one of the shittiest bands to ever exist? I have been forced to listen to it a couple of times because of forced proximity at metal festivals, and it's the worst thing I've heard since one of my dwarf hamsters ate the other one alive.
