honestly, my biggest complaint about this reveal is that, after humanity got started by a handful of people with only one of them speaking japanese, there's no goddamn way that the language of the village wouldn't speak a Nier-esque Chaos Language

So, the anime isn't getting it across well, but Boichi needed to study a METRIC FUCKTON of reference photos to accurately draw the ISS. it's probably why they made an ISS spinoff, so he could draw it more than just a few chapters
