2013 was my first year out of the Marine Corps. I was in community college and living with my GF and cat in San Diego. It was a pretty good a chill year.

2013 was, or was pretty close to bottom for me too. I hadn't been able to find work since getting my MS in 2011 and I couldn't just keep taking Reserve orders. My wife was getting pretty resentful because she had to support both of us on a job she hated but couldn't quit because of Recession. I had become depressed and withdrawn because I felt embarrassed to be around any of my friends or family because I felt like a complete failure. I didn't know it at the time though, but I did start on the path upwards. Just to do something useful with myself I started substitute teaching in a rough district. Now I've got a teaching job I love, she has a job she loves, we have a nice house where we want to live and two kids.

By 2013 I'd crawled a good bit out of the depression I'd been in in late 2013 - mid 2012. By the end of the year I went back to community college, finished that up spring semester 2014, and was in real college in spring 2015. If you want my rock bottom that was 2006.

2013 was my last time to afghanistan but it was as a contractor. my best friend always tries to get me to come contract in iraq with him again and i do miss it sometimes but i really just dont feel like dealing with the hassles of sf86s etc anymore

2013 was my first full year ashore. It was ok. I don’t remember much of it so not much special happened I guess. Was it the year AC4 came out? Because I spent a week playing that for my birthday.
