But given that both Hawaii and Australia are fairly popular summer vacation spots in Japan it's a harder sell since there's not much stopping them from seeing each other on holidays. To add to Mulderman's comment, it also adds a layer of guilt in that even if he picks another girl, he now knows it's at the emotional expense of someone else and that REALLY loving sucks to know.
