what's the point of even watching dragon ball if you can't shoehorn the fact you watched the latino dub and that it's better into every convo?

honestly what i'd like is more stuff like early namek saga where characters have to be crafty and stealthy around villains that would crush them like a bug in a direct confrontation... but since that doesn't involve many fights we probably won't see something like that in modern dragon ball

In some ways it's become the opposite, where our guys are so souped up it's the villains who have to keep playing it sneaky and coming up with tricks and traps to stay competitive.

In BoG everyone gets clowned on by Beerus in about the space of a minute and whilst RoF is better it's largely just the gang blowing up waves of goons with their one signature move. To be more specific it's cool were finally getting a Super arc where the Z Fighters have a proper space in the plot and two of the most underserved characters (Gohan & Piccolo) actually have a good properly choreographed fight which plays to the strength of their characters and their relationship.

Now we have three father-son moves and I think they all are really cool. Father-Son Kamehameha is super iconic, Father-Son Galick Gun is excellent and Father-Son Masenkosappo is what I wanted for so long.

Too bad Goten and Trunks will never be relevant so they won't get the same treatment. Goten has the Family Kamehameha, I guess.

Goten and Trunks are like some vestigial element of the Buu Saga that never got repurposed or reworked to function in a world where their dads -- one of whom is a literal grandfather -- still remain the central focus of the series.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Goten was designed specifically for the purposes of evoking classic Kid Goku elements in a series where Gohan was supposed to be the central focus at the time. An idea that quickly got sidelined, and probably for the best.

And Kid Trunks is just never going to be half as cool or interesting as his future self, which means that Gotenks is all the two have going for them.

I still think a funny low-stakes Park Ranger adventure would be one way you could use them -- and Marron -- without the troublesome element of involving literal children in galactic life or death battles.

Hmm.

It's been a while since this saga started, so pardon me if I'm forgetting, but has Freeza been shown at all? I figure with Moro going around causing havoc, the guy who ostensibly owns half the universe would have noticed by now.

I know people are tired of Freeza showing up in every arc at this point, but...I'm not. His interactions with everyone are always a treat.

lmao

Gohan's not even in the top five characters for the arc that was supposedly his own, and proceeding the arc where he became the most powerful and defeated the main villain.

Gohan could be more. They could make him the family man who is eager to get the battle over with so he can get back to his wife and kid and job/school so he trains to make his wins swift and efficient. It would make him unique amongst the cast, even compared to the similar Krillin whose role has become "the guy who's not sure if he should even be here, but constantly demonstrates that yes, he should."

But making him Piccolo's tag-team partner in the way that Trunks and Goten are basically attached at the hip works too, albeit in a more boring (but not bad!) way.

Nah, he was #1 in the Cell Saga poll and like #3 on the Dragon Ball Forever poll

The issue is that poll's voting started around Gotenks vs Super Buu, where Gohan had been loving around with the Kais for like three volumes at that point
