And lastly, there's a series of small stories about UNOs that got uploaded recently and is apparently complete too. It's pretty cute, as is the pun in the title.

new (& final) chapter of Yumi to Kurumi went up I thought the wrap up was kind of abrupt since I wasn't expecting that to be the end of it already because I forgot it was just one volume but it's probably not bad that it was a short one, it had a story to tell and told it and I think for the short format the doll POV works well but probably wouldn't hold up for a longer story.

It would benefit from reading it as one piece and not by the chapter eked out over however long it took the whole thing to get translated. I'm not going to re-read it now but might come back to it again later. Really beautiful art and a good story -- this one ought to be on the suggestion list if anyone wants examples of good josei manga.

Once the guy realizes his mistake he doesn't pursue her and tries to be sensitive of her feelings but he's kind of an idiot so he screws up sometimes, and for the girl's part it's more a fantasy -- she's playing at having a romance because she knows he's not going to actually follow through. I can see being uncomfortable with it but it hits in sort of the same zone as After the Rain I think. The scene with the girls doing a makeover brought up some dark middle school memories of my friends and I doing each others' makeup and turning ourselves into clowns lmao.
