Biggest crash I've seen in the tour of poland sprint, loving hell (Groenewegen pushed Jakobsen into the barriers about 5m before the line) (edited for choice of words) MrL_JaKiri fucked around with this message at 17:32 on Aug 5, 2020 |

Yeah that's up there with the worst I've ever seen... drat, hope Jakobsen is all right.

https://twitter.com/wcsbike/status/1291048127823314945 That's the crash. At first it reminded me of the Sagan/Cav crash a bit because I thought Groenewegen at first was just balancing himself. But then you see how far from center he drifts. Yikes. There was a crash in Milano Torino too. moctopus fucked around with this message at 17:45 on Aug 5, 2020 |

That crash was awful. Will be curious to see whether there's a penalty. I've heard differing statements (not about this sprint specifically) from UCI commissaires - some saying that a sprinter that maintains a consistent direction of travel from when the sprint was engaged to the finish line is okay, even if that means they are not perfectly parallel with the road. Others interpret quote:Sprints

Groenewegen made 2 obvious deviations in his sprint to shut the door there. He should cop a ban for that, far worse than the Sagan/Cav incident.

# ? Aug 5, 2020 18:03 |

This should be end of season for Groenewegen imo

# ? Aug 5, 2020 18:07 |

They also hit a judge (or something) and it looks like that person had to be flown to a hospital. This keeps getting worse.

That was really horrific, can see them banning Groenewegen for the rest of the season. They were going incredibly fast at that point, was the finish on a downhill?
