I think the part we're gonna hate is the fact that now white chains the emperor and has to deal with this poo poo and its gonna devolve into game of thrones nonsense for a little while as we flounder than the next chapter after that will kick off with the gang being like 'gently caress this' and white chain realizing corrupted laws are worth less than no laws.

Something a lot of people take for granted is that the "part we'll hate" hasn't already happened. It could have been any number of things that just weren't as impactful as Operant expected, like Allison being knocked out as the focal point of the tournament.

Like there is not going to be some sort of heroes defeat Dave in any conventional sense where they physically beat him down and run him out. No one is going to out martial arts him. If he wanted to, he could likely turn around and pulp WC this instant, but she has soundly defeated him philosophically, and if you're just reading for fist fights, that isn't going to be as satisfying as it is for, say, this thread. I don't know how the readership breaks down, but I think the "standard webcomic reader" take is likely correct and a lot of people are going to be "you mean he doesn't get bested in combat?"
