Like, as much as we (rightfully) pedestal the original series and movies, the Rebuilds have occupied the majority of Evangelion's existence and I find it hilarious. Not least because I haven't watched them as much since I want to marathon the whole thing and can't because it isn't finished and therefore am less familiar with the peculiarities of Rebuild canon.

I have no idea what the name of the song is but the music in the original series when unit 01 starts eating the angel is awesome. Everything about that scene is fantastic, from the freaky crawling and seeing there's skin under that armor combined with the eating and repulsed reactions from Nerv staff, it goes from epic to creepy so well.
