That aside; yes people actually do buy this poo poo. I've seen $50k light fixtures sell. Higher end furniture sells too, 10-15k range. Not often though and almost certainly not on the salary of a "global strategist" and whatever form of income the "artist" has. It also probably helps if they're listing MSRP but the people interviewed bought somewhere that sells below MSRP as previously discussed.

"Dining table and dining chair" is the second least comfortable work station I've ever worked in, just behind "bed with no headboard". That said, they mark discounts in some of the displayed products... Lord, if they're actually selling for this much frequently, I went into the wrong demographic.

I'm guessing a decent chunk of people at least know the name Saarinen because of non-furniture stuff, like the gateway arch, or Dulles airport. Also he is constantly in crosswords  There are also cheaper options available, like with MDF tops instead of marble. I briefly considered the 35" Saarinen with MDF but just can't justify it unless I was planning to use it literally every day. The way you actually shop at DWR for major items is to see if it's in the store, then ask a salesperson to contact you if they are planning to move it out so you get the 40% floor model discount (which they will increase to 60-70% if it doesn't sell right away). or use their ebay outlet

Are picture rails ever used in stairways? I have a couple bare walls in stairwells that needs arts. It doesn't look like they're meant to be used at an angle so I might have to modify the rail or the hangers a little bit to make it work.

You can pretty much install them anywhere but yes they would need to be level. The rail hangers just sit on top of the rail and the weight of what they are holding is what keeps them in place, unlevel picture rail and they become unusable.

Sirotan what are some good art arrangements above a queen bed (~66" wide), I don't want to have some omg huge thing above it, but any single piece that is less than like 48" wide looks weird to me. I've seen triptychs with different sized pieces, I've even seen pictures where you have one piece that just has a little bit above the bed, and the rest to the side, for example mostly over the nightstand. I'm also considered just doing a little sconce instead. Right now I'm just leaving the area above it blank to see if it draws my attention enough to require a thing, but wanted your input. I have somewhat high walls (10.5 feet) so that makes the space seem a bit emptier than if they were shorter. ty friend

I might wait to decide though, as I might rearrange the room after she is gone (she is a very good girl and quite old). right now it's like this, the bottom left is the entry door, and the bottom right is the closet door. So the wall above the bed is a definite focus point. Probably do something blue since there isn't any other blue in the room except my duvet cover. Also if in the future I move the bed so the headboard is under the window, something in that same spot will still work.
