I mean, if you're a successful actress and you go out of the house in a skirt and without underwear, knowing that paparazzi are just waiting for opportunities like this and that it has happened many times before, then there's really nobody you can blame for it but yourself.

Yeah, the guy really seems to have thing about underage lesbians. I checked around a little when I read that because I couldn't quite believe that no one in the chapter comments was complaining and from the reader reactions, this kind of thing seems to be the rule for his stories way more than the exception.

Stray Cat Strut's the story where characters gently caress, and now I'm afraid to check their ages because I was thinking the protagonist and her girlfriend were definitely eighteen and now I'm thinking seventeen tops which isn't old enough to have some worm fanfic guy writing jokes about your sixteen-dicked tentacle sex robot.

I think I'm just going to move on from ravensdagger.

Wait the Stray Cat characters aren't at least 18?

If that's the case, definitely dropping the story

Googled that just now and by explicit statement of the author, the main character of that story is seventeen years old, as is her girlfriend. So yeah.

I wouldn't have know that all those characters are supposed to be underage if you hadn't brought it up. They mostly read as young adults to me.
Might have to reconsider my recs.
On the other hand, I stopped taking seriously any author's statements about their character's ages during the peak of "technically 300 years old".

The mind control slime plotline touched on the edge of being something that I'd find too unpleasant to enjoy reading, but it was semi-resolved pretty quickly. I'm very glad the Penelope PoV chapter was after the problem was dealt with and not before, for example.

Outside of that it's a surprisingly funny story and a good example of how to do dark humor well.

I was also reading them as young adults. Broccoli is implausibly naive about relationships/innuendo for an adult, but also no one in the story is questioning her/her group traveling by themselves, carrying weapons & dungeoning, running a bookstore/shipyard, and doing politics. She seemed more 'homeschooled ultra-mormon goes off to college' than kid to me.

Journey is... if I'm gonna be blunt, I think it's mediocre?

Like, so, there's a very me-specific complaint that I have with a lot of these stories that have inhuman protagonists, which is that, while they start off strange, alien and interesting, once the story gets comfortable with itself these characters very rapidly degenerate into "average ordinary modern day people with quirks on". Which I find really loving boring, to be frank with you. I really like being immersed in emotional landscapes that are radically different to my own. It's one of the things I enjoy most about fiction, and these fuckers keep dropping the ball on it.

Anyway, without that Journey just feels like Metaworld Chronicles with less going on. And without the adoration for financial capitalism and colonialism, I guess.

I also have a seething hatred for any story that trots out the Alpha/Beta/Omega tropes, and, guess what happens when the loving werewolves show up!!

Werewolves should just be cut out of pop media man. No one has ever written a good were story. I will die on this hill. :tizzy:

The advantage of more porn-friendly sites is that the authors add more tags to their story, so you can avoid them.

And I only know Journey of Black Red from their crossover chapter with Azarinth. Which leads to a hard cap on my interest level.

The alpha beta omega thing was theorized for wolf “packs”. Later, research showed that they were just wolf families, not some weird army platoon of wolves with a chain of command.

Basically, it's about the idea that wolf packs have these really stratified social hierarchies where everyone has a clear ranking in the pecking order. It was based on observing wolves in captivity, which makes them really neurotic, and the man who made that research later retracted and debunked it all himself when he realized that he was working with faulty assumptions and that it was all bullshit. Wolf packs in nature are family units: father, mother, and their offspring, and maybe some adopted loners.

WtC had a new thing.

Everyone is talking about the rape planet of rape bullshit (which, yeah, that's pretty loving awful), but I feel like more light needs to be shined on the fact that the protagonist hosed a deer.

To be fair to the author, the protagonist was capable of turning into a deer, and at one point the deer turned into a 9-foot tall humanoid woman with six eyes. When asked to clarify what the hell went down to whom in what form, dude went "It's complicated." I'm honestly not sure if that makes it better, or worse.

Also, token reminder that this is the same deer that impregnated a (human) woman way back when I switched from actually reading the story to skimming new releases for weird, insane bullshit.

Eh. I don't read that serial, but stories where people do stuff with were-whatevers and shapeshifters and animals that shapeshift into people (like fox spirits and other Asian tropes like that) are common enough that I find it hard to clutch any pearls here. Don't let that stop you, though!

Well, when I read "a deer" I was assuming it meant an actual deer. If your first thought when reading about something like this is "surely it has to be a shapeshifter of some sort, no one would write that about a regular deer" then you haven't been on the internet long enough to know better yet.

Well, that spoiler said the deer turned into a person. That reads pretty solidly as "(probably sapient) magical beast that can shapeshift into people" to me. Again, not an uncommon trope.
