the video shop in my hometown was pretty small and constantly got new owners despite never changing name. It was really small and the last guys who owned it were the first ones to have porn videos in a small town and decided to put them as the firs set of shelves when you first walk in. Whenever I went in with my ma she'd just push me straight in and past to the PG an 12s section

I liked the first one but I need to go back and at least read Dune Messiah at some point, will probably re-read the original since it's been years. I remember the writing style being kind of off-putting

I had zero interest in reading on after finishing it last year

gonna be resuming the Dark Tower books soon. I took a break early in book 2 like a year and a half ago in favor of reading a bunch of short stories, but its getting annoying that i have it unfinished

if anyone else digs lovecraft mythos poo poo, I gotta give a huuuge recommendation for Caitlin Kiernan’s Tinfoil Dossier trilogy. Agents of shadowy orgs fighting to delay various cosmic horror apocalypses. I finished the third book a couple weeks ago and can barely get it out of my head, just extremely my kind of poo poo. my Sopranos rewatch is on haitus until I either stop being into niche stuff, or Tony encounters a cthulhu on the jersey shore

all the dune books are bad except the fourth one because its about a fat depressed worm who has autism due to 1000 years of social isolation and he to figure out how to a woman. the last 2 were written to support herberts insane valium addiction and iirc they're mostly about the space sex nuns jacking off idaho clones with their feet. this makes them sound better than they are.
