people are tying their brain into knots justifying doing things that every level of capitalism is shouting at them to do. go to work! go to concerts! go support restaurants! it seems like it isn’t safe: the news keeps talking about full hospitals and masks are required in a ton of places and they keep seeing acquaintances die on Facebook. but they want to go do things, they’re tired of the loneliness just like everyone else. so it must be okay, they’re being safe. the bad things won’t effect them. they’re following what few rules exist and they got vaccinated. then they see someone wearing a full respirator or telling them that gently caress no they aren’t going to meet them for brunch. that person can’t be right though. that would mean that their contorted worldview, one that took work to form and they struggle to maintain in the face of reality, is not only wrong but actively harmful. that’s too much though. the other person must just be insane and wrong. they should get some therapy.

one of my favorite rappers died from covid and/or cops (sounds like cops, but the infection is what caused him to cross paths with those cops) a couple weeks ago it's frustrating to hear that he was skeptical of vaccines, though at least it makes some sense for him, as a black person in demon cracker america, where countless black people have been experimented on and murdered. Too bad that he kept touring though, and got infected with covid while doing shows in the CA/NV chudlands. But it might not have been covid that killed him. Something happened after he went to the hospital, and he got into an altercation with doctors and security, which led to them calling the cops (seems like causing that much trouble would take lots of strength for someone who is about to die literally any second from severe covid?). So then the cops handcuffed him while he was allegedly having an asthma attack, while infected with covid, and surprise then he died. Also want to echo what people here are saying: everything is back to normal. Nothing is closed except the businesses that went under. I have friends seeing shows at The Gorge Amphitheater, I have friends who are going to gaming conventions, to trivia at the bar every week, who are having backyard BBQs. Literally anything and everything has been wide loving open this entire goddamn time save for a handful of weeks in 2020. If you're so mad at the cave syndrome folks then loving log off and go touch some grass because THERE IS NOTHING AND NOBODY STOPPING YOU FROM DOING SO

im permabanned poster covidforever58. i first started reading the covid thread when i was about 12. by 14 i got really obsessed with the concept of “open biden” and tried to channel it constantly, until my thought process got really bizarre and i would repeat things like “plandemic” and “i love eating horse paste” in my head for hours, and i would get really paranoid, start seeing things in the corners of my eyes etc, basically prodromal schizophrenia. im now on antipsychotics. i always wondered what the kind of “open biden” style of covid thread humor was all about; i think it’s the unconscious leaking in to the conscious, what jungian theory considered to be the cause of schizophrenic and schizotypal syptoms. i would advise all people who “get” the covid thread to be careful because that likely means you have a predisposition to a mental illness. peace.
