They do have granite bedrock, but the soil is legit (and not imported by owners) too. Good soil goes deep enough to support big trees on most of the islands. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thimble_Islands Some have a little elevation, while a lot are going to be hosed by sea rise. The #1 threat though imo is hurricanes and tropical storms. Good thing that's not related to climate change

I'd certainly murder for those lifts in that garage. Those suckers are like $4000 each. Those garage door rails don't make any sense though. I just replaced my garage doors and the springs are linear to offset the weight of the garage as they go horizontal, providing no tension when fully up. Since this tracks are slanted it puts extra strain on the lifter it was never meant for. The owner is going to go through a lot of them and probably never know why.

I mean the ceiling is slanted so it's this or they're parallel with the floor and they'd run in to the car on the lifts.

ON ITS SIDE?! Sorry I worked at an interior design warehouse and we had stacks of loose furniture like this to the rafters. Most of it was for model homes or sold at a discount to customers. Ideally you'd have this wrapped up but it's possible some designer got their grubby little creative hands on it. My shelves and rows would look like this after designers would poke through everything we had boxed up, because it is justifiably difficult to tell all the details from some observation slits. I got a raise to $15 whole dollars an hour because I put tags on things so we could find it later. Wasabi the J fucked around with this message at 05:15 on Sep 23, 2021 |

When you stage a house for photos you remove all of the poo poo that makes it look like someone live there, so more of the realtors fault? Always looks less cluttered and more open without counter poo poo, rugs, etc.

Agreed and that one is particularly bad. There’s been a couple more modern styled homes in this thread that still manage to look inviting but this one is really lobby-ish and kinda cheap looking for being so pricey. Even like… a potted plant would do a lot of heavy lifting in that staging.
