Based on the israel data we should probably start to see lots of breakthrough cases from people who got vaccinated early but hospitalizations/deaths should still be relatively low among them (except 65+ people with other medical conditions).

However, I can't even imagine how this is going to affect the public discourse at this point.

I got vaccinated in March because I was able to get a spot my gf had since she’s in health care and already got the shot. So that makes me pretty concerned

I mean Moderna is a big rear end dose of very similar stuff and anecdotally (since it's so heavily used in the US we don't have much else to go on) it gives you bigger titers and more side effects but is otherwise very similar to Pfizer?

Have there been any serology studies on such individuals or recomendation on how to approach this - how long to wait post infection and so on? I've seen no info regarding this anywhere and I'm guessing folks in this situation will be growing in numbers.

The current guidance says that as long as you are no longer at risk of exposing other people to the virus, you can get your vaccine at any time. That means that once you are no longer in isolation and are no longer infectious, any time is fine. The exception is for people who received monoclonal antibodies as part of their COVID-19 treatment. The current recommendation is that these patients wait at least 90 days after their treatment to be vaccinated, because they will already have COVID-19 antibodies circulating in their system and we just don’t know enough about the virus or its antibodies to know if this particular treatment could interfere with the vaccine’s effectiveness.

seconding this.

My circumstance is nearly identical. I'm under the impression that its best to wait a month or two (post covid infection) before getting your booster, but I could be entirely wrong. I'm going to ask my doc at my appointment I've got in early October.

Would love someone to chime in w studies/links.

the easiest win for the biden admin would be to come out and say "ok we are making a boosters for life savers program--we are going to give healthcare workers a booster every 4 months just like we plan to do for congress and the executive branch. there will be no red tape, no questions asked, any healthcare worker is eligible and we will come to you with the shots." it would actually help these people and give them a good soft out to keep biden and congress juiced up without having to hide it all the time
