i had never seen a bond movie until casino royale was about to come out, and whatever cable service i had put all of the movies on for free except for From Russia with Love. i rented the disc (lol) for that one from netflix and watched them all in order with some people, it was fun.Bicyclops posted:anyone interested in having a movie night over discord some time? i was working through 101 movies to watch before you die and got distracted by stuff. also it makes me really happy to watch old movies with people who have never seen them before for some reason. i think we had enough interest for this. i'm usually free tuesdays or fridays after about 8:15 PM

what I heard was when they filmed there was another car involved in the chase, and they cut that part from the story, but didn't reshoot the scene, so what you're seeing is them trying to edit around it using only existing footage

Most of the stuff named earlier, volcano lair, poison on string, ninjas, Bonds Japanese surgery and wife, written by Road Dahl are all from You Only Live Twice. I watched half of Never Say Never Again last night. There's a scene where Bond is fighting someone in a chemicals lab in the health clinic he's staying in, and he splashes a vial at the guy and it horribly burns his face. Bond looks at the vial and sees that its his urinal sample. What??

Ok sweet. Going to go ham on dragon ball. Starting the original DB then I'll watch Kai. I haven't watched any of it in like 15 years. I remember at some point in the 90s finding this Trunks VHS while at Walmart with my parents. This was the short arc where future Trunks shows up in the present, kills cyborg Frieza and his dad, gives Goku the medicine, etc. It was uncensored I think and it all blew my mind, the series on TV was nowhere near that point yet and my friends didn't believe me when I described it to them until they saw it themselves.

Kai drops a few charming character building episodes that I was sad to see go but other than that it would be insane not to watch that over the original. Original Dragon Ball is the best story ever told. The manga is a masterpiece.

The first DB thing I ever saw was a fansub of the original Brolly movie that some kid brought to the summer day camp I went to, I’m pretty sure the subbers added in a bunch of curses that didn’t exist in the actual script. It was the coolest thing I’d ever seen in my life at the time
