I really liked the 2 song EP they put out a while ago and pre-ordered the CD of this and was kind of disappointed. Gonna give it a few more tries and see if it grows on me.

i've been revisiting some of the countess records i hadn't heard and the revenge of the horned one albums are seriously weird as hell, it's cool. on the first one there's a song where he just puts in a 10 minute long psych guitar freakout out of nowhere and the second one has totally inexplicable nonsense synth jamming and bizarre cartoon vocals, among other things.

Well, Ecliptica does have this certain nostalgic, naive charm to it, but yeah I'd say Winterheart's Guild is probably their actual best album (Not that it's a super high bar). Their best song is San Sebastian, though.

I like Khan far more than Tony Kakko, but Winterheart's Guild beats out all the Kamelot albums for me. Khan's better project is Conception, anyway.

I loving love Conception, In Your Multitude is one of my favorite albums. Roy Khan probably has the most beautiful voice in metal (sorry Tony Kakko, I love you too!)

for the record i wasn't making GBS threads on power metal, i genuinely do believe that brute force demo is some of the best power metal there is. unrelated, i've been listening to [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fK11OPuBsY]this Calyx album[/i] a lot recenlty (especially the songs Bosque muerto and La venganza de las brujas). It reminds me of someone, but I'm really bad at recognizing which artists remind me of which (aside from super obvious ones like Kvist and Deathspell Omega).

The best power metal album is Gamma Ray's Land of the Free. Sonata Arctica have never written a song half as good as Rebellion in Dremland or Land of the Free or Afterlife.
