They just had a major change in leadership as well, I think an investor may have taken over their board.

It does seem like investor story time but I would much rather fly on one of those things than a 402 or the Tecnam P2012. As someone who might slightly matter to Delta I sent my bitching letter in already. I doubt they do anything, though.

If it's anything like the "United buys supersonic airplanes!" headlines from last year, it's probably just a marketing ploy. Whatever Cape Air signed likely requires the aircraft to meet certain performance/cost/timeline metrics, with a clause that failing to meet them gets Cape Air a substantial discount and/or a way to back out of the deal, so this mostly exists to make both companies look good for now.

lol there is no way anyone is going to make a supersonic civilian aircraft with $100 million in venture funding, they're probably 2 orders of magnitude off of what would actually be required e: that's still like a quarter of what Musk is offering for Twitter though

Supposedly they're less than a year out from first flight, though that likely isn't the first supersonic flight, test programs being what they are. So I think they're trying to build exactly 1 experimental supersonic aircraft demonstrator for $100M....seems doable to me

Why should Musk build supersonic jets, it's just competition for his suborbital rocket transportation.

Why did they start so late? They were going around 35mph, which means it would take about 4-5 hours to get across Florida. Why didn't they start in the morning so they'd have enough time to fly all the way across? A proper plan would be to have radios obviously, because cell phones aren't meant to work 2000 feet in the air. And then start in the morning, fly for a couple hours, stop for lunch halfway, and then fly the rest in the afternoon. It seems like they just decided to try it and didn't actually check if it was possible until they took off.

Here's a 20 second version of the same flat spin. https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/co...web2x&context=3 IDK if there's a special flat spin recovery thing in an SU34 but unless he was WAY higher up I can't imagine how he'd recover from that. Looks like he punched though. I mean, even if the chute deployed when it was higher up and it glided to the ground, that's still a crash is it not? Just one that is slower. I don't know if that really would change the FAA's investigation. It's funny, just last weekend at Easter my dad was saying "They must have remote control of the airplane so they can bring it down if something goes wrong." I guess that's a nope! Really though, it was dumb of Red Bull to not have a standby pilot in each airplane. The stunt was exchanging pilots, not to have a plane fly for a period of time uncontrolled. They are going to have to respond severely too since they just yanked that other guy's license for bailing out and letting crash a flyable airplane which is pretty much exactly what Red Bull did even if the intent was to put a pilot back in.
