E L E G A N T and Twilight slamming his fist into the table were among my top favorite moments I wanted to see animated and I'm delighted to see them in action. I think that batch is really the only chapters for a while that can be combined into one episode. I'm interested to see how it adapts the others, but given how well the show has been paced so far, I'm confident the rest will be filled with good cute moments too.

I mentioned it in the manga thread, but when I started marathoning the manga at roughly the time the anime began it was the "We brought a third outfit" reveal that had me struggling to breathe I was laughing so hard. The panels for the reveal are so amazing, I wasn't expecting it at all, and I found it hilarious that the third outfit was the most fancy/formal of them all. I don't think this is a spoiler since stuff like this comes down to personal taste, but I think that's still the comedic high point of the manga for me. I'm still expecting plenty of great things from the anime though!

I remembered most of this episode from the corresponding manga chapter but had totally misremembered Loid punching the table as him actually decking the douchebag and then ELEGANT guy saying he deserved it instead of doing it himself. Regardless, Loid's subconscious breaking through his years of spy experience is still my personal favorite moment of his character thus far. I love the implication that Yor didn't stop drinking until she passed out. Very good episode, and if Anya's face at the end is any indication, next episode is also going to be excellent.

I thought they were gonna skip the castle part since it was always kind of weird and out-of-place in the manga, but instead they just doubled-down on it entirely and it worked out way better. A+

I haven't watched a seasonal anime episode to episode in years but goddamn this is charming. The PV looks like we're getting into Anya's school life next where I assume her mind reading will result in some shenanigans. Definitely want to check out the manga at some point but I might hold of at least until this season ends.
