i dunno i think Rise of Skywalker is deffo "unmemorably bad" and it's only such a disaster because it's meant to serve as the capstone to some really great stories we all grew up with i very much straight up can't remember 90% of what happens in it

Were those people on the spaceships the whole time? It had been like 38 years!

I had checked out of the movie long before that but the horses felt like Disney taking a poo poo on my shoes. Has there ever been a movie that had such a high ceiling (it's Star Wars) and absolutely fallen flat on its face quite so severely? I'm not saying it's the worst movie ever, by any means. But it had the potential to be a good movie (regardless of your feelings about TFA/TLJ) simply because of the furniture it was built on. What else comes close? Matrix Revolutions was a pretty staggering drop off but even they didn't resort to horses on hulls.

The major issue with RoS is that it does all the big dramatic "Palpatine is back" stuff in the first five minutes, everyone in the galaxy already knows about it because of a Fortnite event, so between that and the climax there's just this big long treasure hunt with a lot of other random plot developments. It's built so dang weird, not only does it not feel like much of a sequel to Last Jedi, it isn't really much of a sequel to Force Awakens either. It's just various ideas getting thrown out at 15 minute intervals until the movie's over. It feels so rushed, I think all of Disney's Star Wars stuff had a hectic schedule but this one was yikes.
