Finally into the Finale of Yakuza 5 after what felt like 4 hours of monologue from a man holding a gun at Shinada from the pitchers mound. Jesus christ that poo poo went on way too long. I kept thinking some insane poo poo was about to pop off but it was exactly what anyone would have thought going into it, just extended to 50 IRL Minutes. What the gently caress man

Pitcher: 15 Years Ago... when you hit that Home Run off me...

Me in the Background: Oh my god. We get it,we understand what happened 15 years ago!!!!!!!

Shinada: 15 Years Ago? You mean.. when I hit that Fastball off you?

I really thought I was missing something for that whole section because I know nothing about baseball lol. Just completely incomprehensible. It was engaging enough for a while because Yakuza just manages to make anything compelling, but it definitely wore out its welcome then kept going and going

It was mostly fine up to that point, then it went on way too long rehashing everything we already know. The only new bit of information was in the middle of it, which could've been cut down to like 5 minutes max

i played through yakuza 5 remastered but i think im going to go back and start with 0 and then burn through the kiwami remakes.

Been slowly working my way through 0, haven't played Yakuza before. Game totally owns and I've just been having a blast. I am mostly ignoring the weapon crafting side thing because I don't understand it and all the fighting styles are fun enough that I feel like it's not necessary, though I wonder if I should pay more attention for Majima's late game

This is exactly how I started the series too, and I don't regret ignoring the weapon crafting at all

kiwami is fine to burn through, but take your time with 0 and kiwami 2

I don't think I've bothered with any of the weapon mod stuff in any game beyond dumping ten million yen in it for the completion list in the last half hour

Played a bunch yesterday. Finished the cabaret club minigame and advanced the plot several chapters. Got hype when I unlocked Majima's mad dog of Shimano style, had a mini freakout when I saw Tachibana's bat tattoo and put some pieces together, was excited for a third battle with Kuze and sort of sad when I beat him without him even landing a hit once I dropped his goons, after how epic the first two fights were. Game continues to own.

i finished my first yakuza, the seventh yakuza, and i am wondering if the bonus dungeon is worth it; battles were starting to get pretty homogenized toward the end once each party member had learned a big 'hit all enemies for huge damage' attack.

game owned

The bonus dungeon is sick and should be done because it provides some cool postgame content. There’s another version of the same bonus dungeon after that where like every enemy is level 99 and that one can safely be skipped it’s only for bragging rights.

sure play the bonus dungeon if you want but not if doing so will delay you starting y0 and experiencing the rest of the series imo

~As for dreams, she has enough and more to spare~
you should do the regular version of the bonus dungeon, it's not that difficult. the hard mode version is a grindfest though, iirc it was originally dlc in the jp version that they put out because people complained the bonus dungeon was too easy

The regular one is fine yeah, it has Amon and some coop cutscenes. If you do the extra hard mode one you should probably be put down like Ol Yeller
