My original stint with Gunpla was MG mostly. I built plenty of HG/HGUCs of ye olden times but I was mostly passionate for big detailed kits.

My current stint with Gunpla is mainly modern HGs because there's many things that don't have a MG version and it's easier to slap on a few "fixes" or add-ons to a 1/144 kit of HGUC grade or equivalent, while a MG kind of demands a higher level of detail.

This, plus if I mess up an HG I don't feel too bad as I'm only out 20-30 bucks

Insert funny caption here.

If you want to be charitable this could count as two HGs, though the Bulldog construct-o-bot was a pretty simple kit. I had some fun adding shading to the joint covers. I was also going to add water slides but I seem to have misplaced them? Overall a pretty good kit that looks great, though there are no polycaps and instead the joints just end up being super stiff and separate easily when moved.

I spent the rest of the evening finishing off the MG Ball Ver.Ka with some decals.

This was my first go at applying dry transfers, and using clear tape on top helped a lot with positioning. Mr Mark Softer also seems to work pretty well on these.

Final build of August, adding to the GP02 content of the thread!

Exia 2.0 would be wonderful given how great the much more recent Virtue, Kyrios, and Dynames are. I'd also love to see an MG Nightingale but in a "hahaha... unless?" kind of way. It'd just be so hilariously massive- you'd have to dedicate a whole piece of furniture to displaying it.

I mean there already is a re/100 Nightingale and it's huge, but the extra detail would be aces for a Ver Ka.

They already made an MG Deep Striker as a regular release and that thing is more statue than model kit, so an MG Nightingale wouldn't be too far outside the realm of possibility. Also the RE/100 already exists.

For some kits like the GP0 series I get it, the Exia doesn't really need one IMO. It's a kits with plenty flaws sure but it's fine.

Mg f91 2.0

I scribed a bunch of lines and adding some plaplates and armor separation in the knee so it's sorta different from the usual kit. All in all, it's a great little model though.

There is a grunt version of the Z'gok, but it's P-Bandai.

I don't know how much the Z'gok flopped, given that it still gets regular reprints, but I can see why it wouldn't hit the targets. Most of the RGs are big name suits, so random fans will recognize it and be interested. Grunts are less remembered, and often would require different frame setups.

I'm not sure how true that is, given SEED's success in Japan, but even if it is, it illustrates the point. If one of the most iconic grunts sells slower, the less iconic grunts hardly have a chance.
