probably a combination of not enough people left to handle reports, automated systems not working right or requiring human interaction that isn't there anymore, and also just more people posting content against the rules because word is out that enforcement is slow to non-existent.

porn is allowed on twitter and those “sensitive content” warnings are optional and set by the person posting the image.

he panicked AFTER the market took a dump and he realized twitter had turned into a financial black hole

huh, didn’t know porn was explicitly allowed, but anyway i looked at the sensitive media policy and the content warning is not optional if you’re going to post “adult content”

quote:

If you share this content on Twitter, you need to mark your account as sensitive. Doing so places images and videos behind an interstitial (or warning message), that needs to be acknowledged before your media can be viewed.

it kinda took over after tumblr banned it as The Place People Post Porn, at least for people who just do it as a fun hobby and not to make money.

I wonder what impact you could have funneling Musk's ~$200 billion @ ~$5-10billion/yr into funding union strike funds, lobbying and campaign contributions to raise taxes on the rich, enacting m4a, cutting all subsidies to fossil fuels, etc etc. constant propaganda supporting all of the above through every form of media, and then pulling up the ladder behind you by pushing for a constitutional amendment eliminating money from politics.

people say stuff like this but I feel like porn was always very prevalent on Twitter. even before musk if you'd search for just about anything sort of generi or adjacent to a trending topic, you would get a fair amount of porn in the results.

This is the part I don't get. Everyone knew the tech industry was in for a serious Market Correction. All he had to do was put in a lowball bid and sit on it for another 6-12 mo as the market tanked and twitter's valuation crashed, and eventually the stockholders would've accepted much much less. It's not like the company had any prospect of becoming more profitable.

e: then again, if his plan was to make money, he wouldn't have bought twitter

what if the whole neuralink thing about helping disabled people to walk etc is just a cover for another melon grift to get government money to subsidise the real goal, a direct brain-tweet interface? and then made his team install it directly into his brain because he didn’t want to wait for animal testing and fda approval?
what if we’re seeing a preview of the future?
