You can play both Hollow Knight and Stardew Valley on a Mac, switch, Xbox, or PS5, so I don’t understand why anyone is complaining.

M2 Mini $499 👀 Pro is kind of a ridiculous bump but I’m not gonna complain about a price cut in 2023.

Oddly enough, if you are an educational customer, you can still order 2020 Intel iMac 27-inchers, but the regular retail site doesn't list them at all. Only M1 iMacs on the retail site. Intel Mac minis got shitcanned on the educational channel too, only the new M2 minis are available. Binary Badger fucked around with this message at 17:32 on Jan 17, 2023 |

Noticed that the M2s are still 5 nanometer technology.. welp guess we'll have to wait for M3s for 3 nm.. explains why they can only squeeze 3 more GPU cores in the Pro.

Housh posted:Is there any speed nonesense with storage configurations? Like you have to get 2 tb and up to have a fast SSD? If it's like the M1 MBPs, then read/write went up with size, up until you got up to 4 TB, which was about the same as the 8 TB. Honestly though, it's so fast across all the offered sizes, I'd probably still just say that you should get the largest size you think you need and/or can reasonably afford, depending on how long you keep it. As a comparison, the 512 GB SSD in the 14" MBP (2021) was about 5100 MB/s read/4600 MB/s write; this went up to 5,300 (read) / 5,900 (write) on the 1TB, 5,400 (read) / 6,400 (write) for the 2 TB, and then about 5,700 (read) /7,300 (write) for the 4 TB and 8 TB configs. Performance could have obviously gone up with these new releases, but we'll have to wait and see. And I went with the 1 TB on my 2021 14" MBP M1 Max and have been happy.

I went back and checked. They dropped two ports going to the Mx line. Thought they kept the same i/o from intel but they just returned to 4 ports for the pro. I blame pre-coffee postin'
