I kinda like it. Wouldn't wanna clean it though. The dumb part of me sees this and wants to build a sink out of a block of porous concrete.

There used to be two of these, but one of them blew into the ocean last sunday. With people inside. Nobody died, but two people are still in the hospital. The owner of the "cabins" is under investigation by the police. Source (in norwegian):https://www.nrk.no/nordland/turister-i-a-i-lofoten-skal-anmelde-hytteeier-etter-at-de-blaste-pa-sjoen-1.16296050

Zereth posted:So looking at that thole they basically didn't have a foundation at all? That box used to be 10 feet further back. You can see the water still coming out of the broken connections. So there was room to walk around the front and get in what I am assuming is a door with a window to see the ocean. But relying on the weight of an empty box to not move in winds off the ocean must have been a bad idea.

A while back there was some bad flooding north of Atlanta and some guy was telling me how his house floated up off the "foundation" (a lot of houses in that area are basically sitting on blocks with a crawlspace), turned almost 180 degrees, and then set back down in his neighbor's backyard. By the time I talked to him his neighbor had already reached the "So...when does your insurance company think they'll have your house out of my yard?" phase.
