Well sure. But the Shang Chi bus scene turning into a CGI fest for the second half is more relevant to this bus scene than the Nobody one.

There are definite similarities but then again Batman and a bunch of heroes all share similar roots with pre-Batman pulp heroes.

Snyder's Watchmen was obviously an adaptation of the comic book story but its inspiration in many respects was deliberately taken from superhero movies. So movie Nite Owl heavily references movie Batman.

Doctor Strange also cut a bus in half. It's apparently become a cliche.

my posts are as bad the Current Releases review of Gone Girl

I mean comics nite owl absolutely was taking inspiration from batman, it’s just more of a seasoning on the blue beetle base.

I think he's more Nolan-Bale Batman, while Ozymandias was Schumacher Batman.

Somewhere in Hollywood, there's a producer who has an obsession with buses the way Jon Peters has about giant mechanical spiders.

Gotta say, my excitement dropped a bit after that. It looks gorgeous and fun, but I was hoping that with the talent on board it would have some sort of a narrative focus. That looks more like a gag-fest, which is also fine but not as interesting to me. But maybe it's just the trailer.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it but there definitely seems to be a bit more going on. The fact that they go past the "real world" sign, Barbie being annoyed Ken came along and the "She's everything. He's just Ken" tagline make me think there's something deeper going on. Maybe it's an empowerment analogy with the himbo as the stand in?

I continue to be extremely hype for the Barbie movie. I love that Kate McKinnon is the Barbie that eventually gets all her hair cut off and her face hosed up with markers. I know I had at least one like that as a kid.

Yeah, I think these teasers are just setting up the world, but not going into what the movie is "about". But again, I really have no idea.

Hang on, is Will Ferrell here to make it a shared universe with the LEGO Movie? I'm only half joking.

I was going to say that it reminds me of Machuca, then I looked it up and the director of this was in Machuca so there you go.
