Seems like Secret Invasion would've been the better meta-plot thing for phases 4-6 than the Kang/multiverse plotline (even before the debacle with Majors) but honestly it is difficult to care about any of this stuff anymore.

Nothing in that trailer stands out as interesting, I hope all the actors pulling the MCU equivalent of jury duty got paid well at least.

There's one (non-shapeshifted) Skrull shown in that trailer. Imagine how much you'd have to gently caress up Secret Invasion by having that little Skrull action.

I was going to say that it reminds me of Machuca, then I looked it up and the director of this was in Machuca so there you go.

It doesn't have much in common with Machuca other than being set in Chile during the first years of Pinochet's dictatorship.

I haven't seen it so I'll take your word for it but it also stars Aline Küppenheim and appears to be told from the perspective of an upper middle class family.

I couldn't find a TV show preview thread, so I was sitting on the trailer it for a couple of days. But then the Secret Invasion trailer was posted and there was no issue, so I thought I'd post this one. That the show was inspired by a movie was an extra point in its favor, I thought. But you can always report me I guess, if you're in a complaining mood.

Apologies, I did not mean to come off aggro. I appreciate you posting it because I love the original movie and am at least curious about a remake. However, I don't think this looks like it really has much going on beyond two Weiszs, and I'm getting pretty burned out on prestige limited series. I'd probably check out if it was 2 hours but barring really good word of mouth I'm not going to watch 6 episodes.

As for something good, my favorite recent trailer is this one for the 2019 Godzilla sequel.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVDtmouV9kM

I really wish the movie had been closer in tone to this trailer and the original movie. In theory I appreciate that they were trying to do more Showa era goofy stuff with the human characters but the execution did not land for me.

Mario looking good box office wise and audience score wise.

Outperforming the tracking and also this is crazy. Critics scores around 50% not great but audience scores 96%

I can't remember the last time there was that big of a discrepancy. Critics expected more but fans are satisfied? Anyway I enjoyed it.

That commercial is what I kept having to hold my tongue on every time they mentioned Pratt's voice. That Mario in the commercial is Charles Martinet for real by the way and phew I've been holding on to that

Minions was okay and you do have to take into account people bombing the audience scores and exit polls but 96% is too high to be flukey or unreliable

SMB is a good video game to film adaptation. Plays un the sandbox, references things for fans young and old. Just some fun smashing of toys in a way that works with what the franchise puts out.

Sonic was more of an attempt to be a movie, hence the OC humans, Carey Eggman, etc.

I think they're both valid and just went about doing things in a different way. But both work very well and are very fun.

My understanding is that he isn't developing Alzheimer's right now, it's just that he's a high risk. He wants to do what he can now to prevent it from developing, like having regular sleep pattern, eat healthy, have low stress. Y'know, all the things that acting prevents people from doing.

Yeah I think it's like 6 to 8 times higher of a chance than a normal person so it's probably def gonna happen. Hopefully not though!

The reverse happened when they tested Boogie Nights. They were getting scores in the 30s and 40s. Audiences loved the film but almost all of thrm answered a resounding NO to the question "would you recommend this movie to your family or a friend?", because it was a movie about porn.

Apparently the producer did his own cut and tested it against PTA's version simultaneously on the same night with the edict that they would finish whatever version got the higher score. The PTA cut scored in the high 30s and the producer cut scored in the low 30s.
