At the launch of Viridian. I rejoined eve to do veldspar mining. The rhythm of mining goes well with the rhythm of newborn bottle feeding. Gooseflock was suggested to me by steam friend who also, long ago, mined while bottle feeding infants. I spent my first month in High/Low sec to shake the rust off my fingers. The new AIR Program took me a month of semi-casual play to complete the stuff I likes, about 3 months to cap out the big bar with all the skillpoints. I lost like 2 or 3 ships in a bad beat and I became a lil salty bitch about it, but the nice folks in the Corp read my posts and tossed a 100 million in funisk at me. Later I got the anniversary isk and it seemed like the most normal thing in the world. It was listed as "hey new members, just join the 4 comms channels we got and log in to your dash board and we will contract you the yearly isk" By this point I had seen the moon logs and the amount of isk given to me seemed in line with what was being generated. The anniversary cash freed me: it let me buy all the fancy ships that I skilled up for, it let me blow those ships up while learning, and it made the videogame fun to play. After a month or so I made the move to sov space to make an Industrial Index number go up. The infrastructure in place was immaculate, two very nice spots in nulsec. The moon schedule was available and well put together. I did not go to WH, but I saw what kind of infrastructure they set up in J space and it was luxurious. Then last Friday my 3rd Omega purchase ran out and it looks like everything exploded so I'm gonna move on to the next MMO tour MMOHMO takes me. Palia is looking good. . yeah mintchip was kind of a lovely person in my v limited interactions with her, and also didn't deserve the horrendous treatment she got. turns out two things can simultaneously be bad without automatically being equivalent OR making one of them good

She reported him again this year with allll the receipts of like idk dozens of messages and CCP like hellbanned him and she hasn't gotten a message since. Even if you're making literally US federal minimum wage you can pay for an account with less than a day of work, and if you're making anything remotely resembling a living wage it's like, an hour or less. And then you can actually do things in eve that are.. well okay 'fun' might be overegging it but 'not soul-crushingly miserable'. eventually, with a well-developed character, you can make enough to make plexing your account with isk more worthwhile, but trying to do it before that point requires devoting your every waking moment to having the most miserable time you can have in eve online, and all for the privilege of doing it again the next month

I just got back into EVE after 10 years away from posting and gaming (where I travelled Latin America and ended upworking for George Santos), and I gotta say it's bizarre that people are still talking about stuff like Mintchip, stuff I barely remember, as if it was yesterday. The whole game feels like it's been preserved in Amber.

I think it moved to one of the Sotiyos either in Perimeter or maybe New Caldari? Now that the TTC Keepstar is gone I just do all of my trading in Jita 4-4. There are other stations that have changed their names recently to masquerade as the replacement market station with extremely high taxes. Surely they've fooled some people because it keeps happening.
