I played that one

The only time I played VtM:B the game glitched out super hard and started me with a blank inventory. I couldn�t finish the tutorial until my friend who wanted me to try it used console commands to put the �no armor� and �unarmed� placeholder items in there. Then it hard crashed to desktop when I got to the haunted house.

Between that and starting as a Malk I think I pretty much got the full experience.

The fix was also months in the coming so for a while the devs just told you to console command your way past the crash trigger.
