That’s the collision they mean, I don’t see how he’d get an upper body cut from that.

They played pretty decently tonight but yeah without Nico and Jack they're not good enough to survive mediocre to bad goaltending every night.

The bottom six and goaltending probably needs to be upgraded at some point this year, and Brendan Smith can't be a regular on this team deep into the season.

My prediction is Ruff scratches Bahl instead vs the Penguins or Rangers to get Miller in

Winnipeg is going to have a pretty decent team when Vilardi gets back. With the emerge of Perfetti they have a good group of forwards. Like not a Cup contender or anything but they should get back in the playoffs with some comfort I think.

That Dubois trade might be one of those rare ones that works out well for both teams, although I'm not convinced LA needed to make it.

I don't understand at all how they went from absolute trash to second in the Atlantic. Feels like just the other day I was watching them play like garbage against Toronto in person. I guess I broke the curse? They're 7-1-1 since I went to the game.

The most noticeable slump is the one that occurs in the first 2 weeks of the season.

The CBJ were 16-2-2 up to and including the 16-game win streak in 2016-17.

Though I later made up for it, guess who went to the "-2-"? (I want to say the losses were to Ottawa and Carolina.)

I am very confused by the Caps. But happy to see dudes like Lindgren and McMichael showing something. Even Sandin, who goofed to give a breakaway last night actually hoofed it and broke up the shot in a way I haven't seen a Caps defender do since like... ever?

I'm in full-throated agreement on this one. It's not clear to me that Kane will even be better than Blake Wheeler at this point. Let's just keep moving in the same direction, and if we need help at RW, someone will shake loose around trade deadline time.

There's something off with Caufield. Can't seem to hit any onetimer or even receive a pass cleanly. Normally I'd attribute it to passes being too stiff and/or inacurrate but it's becoming a pattern. I wonder if it correlates with him being off Suzuki's line.

Don’t compare this garbage to Guardians. Guardians was ahead of its time, an under appreciated gem, back when desperate NHL marketing was not only incredibly dumb but also creative and fun.

The Guardians didn’t need the blockchain, we had The Maple Leaf! A giant walking and talking maple tree!

The refs gave Cozens, who was wearing a full face mask, two minutes for roughing for… pulling a guy off of his teammate. McAvoy came flying in from half the rink away to attack Dahlin for a clean hit and the refs decided those were equal penalties. The Bruins scored on the ensuing 4-on-4. Obviously that wasn’t the reason they lost but still, those refs were awful.

What's terrifying is I don't disagree. This looks like a better team on ice this year, they just can't help but dickstep late.

Provorov not airmailing the puck out of the zone against Fancy Cats and their being incapable of clearing the zone at all against the Rangers cost them regulation wins.

Holy poo poo, I'd take one of these over a bobblehead seven days a week and twice on Sunday.

e- I hadn't finished the Hitchcock article at the time I posted the link but:

quote:

“I’ve spent time with an English Premier League team,” Hitchcock said. “I spent a week with a Hungarian handball team. I’ve been around baseball teams, in the dugout, observing, learning. I’ve watched the Ted Lasso (Netflix) series, three times. I don’t know who wrote it, but they had a good idea how a team works.”

Now I'm picturing Hitch being Ted Lasso'd to an EPL team and grinning.

Lol. McAvoy and Pasta both jumped Dahlin. Cozens pulled Pasta off of Dahlin and onto the ground. Pasta got up and went after Dahlin a 2nd time, so Cozens threw him to the ground again.

Is it an ejection to pull the actual "3rd man in" off of your guy twice?
