I always love it when One Piece references the characters and events of earlier arcs. In most other manga they often feel irrelevant or outright forgotten, but Oda does it in a way that feels completely natural. The most recent chapter with the brief warlord montage is a great example of this, with original design Koby, Miss All Sunday Robin, and Sugar.

On my reread and just got through the Usopp and Luffy fight. Can’t believe how well Usopp performed. My man got some solid hits in. One of the best fights in the series.

They're having a Hokusai exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum. I went to it today, and was delighted to see that they included a big ol' two-page spread from One Piece has an example of his contemporary influence.  They also had a tankoban open to the page with the waterfall climb (which did look very similar to some Hokusai waterfalls in another room). Very fun to see it displayed the same way as like the 19th century poetry books.
