Movie this morning was the Osomatsu movie that came out in 2022. The middle third has a bunch of pretty solid jokes as the boys are put in a situation where they have to farm and build their own shelter. Unfortunately the first third spends a bit too much time on setup and the last third has a long chase sequence that loses steam pretty quickly. This would have been a great episode of the tv show but as an hour-long movie it's just decent. I'd have to check my list again but I think with that I have finished every 2022 anime movie that is currently readily available in English? Heck of a trip, though I won't be repeating that next year.

Basically the issue I ran into with this project is that I already try to watch all original anime movies + franchise films for shows I already have a fondness for + any anime that plays on the big screen in my area, so that meant that the stuff I watched that I'd normally skip on were franchise films for stuff I had no interest in that didn't get a theatrical release out here. Sometimes I'd be pleasantly surprised (shoutouts to the Backflip movie!) but for every pleasant surprise I had a bunch of stuff that was a slog to get through - too many idols and isekai in particular!

I also discovered that iOS has a tachiyomi fork now thanks to Nitrousoxide so I can have a lot of the stuff in one place too (I often forget about dynasty scans/reader). Yeah big G feels like a force of nature, like there's no way to stop him. It makes the ending cathartic for the humans and I appreciate that since there's the themes of lost war and sacrifice running throughout.
