euphronius posted:it’s bad. and they normalized the league office making calls in game which is kind of crazy the league office literally decided in a coaches challenge review, with the game tied and 3 seconds left, to overturn an obviously already correct call (wrong) which took 2 free throws away from the celtics. then they gave the ball to the pacers (wrong, it was supposed to be a jump ball), the successful challenge gave the pacers back their final timeout which they used to advance the ball. then in the l2m report they admitted they also missed calling an illegal screen set by myles turner, and then incorrectly called a foul on porzingis even though he got a clean block, which gave 3 free throws to the pacers (wrong) with 1 second left in the clock today in the raptors lakers game they extremely obviously were trying to make the lakers win. didn’t call a foul when a laker literally grabbed a dudes dick, ruled out a made scottie barnes 3 point shot to tie the game because of the weakest offensive foul call youve ever seen in clutch time, and had a 13-2 free throw disparity in favor of the lakers in the 4th quarter before intentional fouling started, even though the raptors were driving to the rim at least as much and getting hit at least as much as the lakers. and with all those free throws the lakers won by only 1 point lol i mean it’s always been bad but this season has been the most blatant fixing and consistently horrible reffing i can remember. at least in the past i could suspend disbelief a bit when it was bad and say maybe the refs are just incompetent

it really is cool how they can make really bad calls and then have a meeting later where they tell everybody they made a bad call so the players and fans can feel vindicated but the game's outcome is already decided and someone's super parlays have already paid out so nothing actually changes as a result

we should obviously ban gambling again but it's a lot of fun and in addition to this I’m making a very very small amount of money on a monthly basis (enough to cover a week's worth [almost half a tank] of gas) so in this context it's difficult to say if we should obviously ban gambling again or not

they do do that before you place a bet. if they want to allow gambling it should have to to pay out like 95% of revenue to bettors, donate 3% to gambling rehab, 1.25% to education, operating expenses must be .5% of revenue, and they can keep whatever's left. also, no advertising
