I assumed it's purely related to the end game spoilers when aunt Jiang gets asked what to do about wei and she essentially says to let sleeping dogs lie and to let him go. The entire game's plot is to set up the pun and they bait and switch it.

I'm pretty sure it refers to half the cast's inability to let poo poo go (i.e: let sleeping dogs lie.)

RE4 Remake:

I appreciate that they gave Ashley a part where she can help you with a fight from a safe difference.

I like the knife sparking when you pull off a parry or block.

Luis is a lot more likable in this version personally. I can see the guy as mostly a hero in this one, even though he did work for Umbrella in the past.

I appreciate the shooting gallery having a pirate theme, don't know why it does but it's nice to see someone putting in that much effort regardless.

Yeah, Luis is a huge improvement. He feels a lot more like a scumbag trying to be better than a scumbag being a scumbag.

The phrase is "Let sleeping dogs lie" which means do no contradict lying dogs who are sleeping in any way. They might not remember and get real grumpy about what the gently caress you're on about.

Basically leave dogs alone in general.

It's a very common plot with crime and martial arts movies that various characters simply refuse to not start poo poo with people who, whatever they or someone loosely connected to them have done, are minding their own business. See also John Wick.

I've been enjoying Pseudoregalia on Steam - it's a charming movement-based 3D metroidvania where you explore a castle and get increasing amounts of movement tech.

The game progresses pretty quickly and you are always finding new areas or new branches that you can go down if you so choose, then progressing only makes you find even more branches. There's a bunch of paths so far that I haven't even tried because it just kept letting me move forward.

Also Mike is great in this one too. As someone who's a fan of NPC partners who're dramatically stronger than you so it feels like you are the NPC being escorted, I greatly appreciated that section.

Makes me wish the game had God of War Ragnarok's partner options. Would love for that guy to have been around the entire game that you're outside.

All this talk made me get the definite edition of sleeping dogs and I'm very pleasantly surprised how it still looks and plays quite nicely. The fighting system is one of the better ones I've played and the collectibles are even worthwhile so you'd stop when you find some.

My favorite lil thing at this point is once again the general vibe of hong kong. What a cool setting and such a drat shame we'll never get a sequel.

Something that I'm finding interesting about Pseudoregalia is how different it feels from other Metroidvanias - in a lot of other games like it you find obstacles that you can't overcome, like a sheet of ice you have to melt or a big block you can't yet push, but because most of the powers you get are movement upgrades it takes the opposite approach, allowing you to see things like an open door that you just can't reach no matter how skillfully you move. Some rooms are difficult because of how LITTLE there is in them (although there are exceptions, sometimes there IS an object you can't do the thing with yet). For the most part also, in most Metroidvanias when you get to a new location you play through it until you find a new technique that lets you move further forward, but not this game. In this game I've been going from new area to new area and been confronted with a few things I can't do yet, like rooms with vines to climb or weird black orbs, and whole corridors full of locked doors for which I have 0 keys, and I've now got to a bit where I keep dropping and travelling further and further downwards into more and more subterranean locales.

It's a really cool feeling of being hopelessly lost. There are a couple of rooms where I could activate platforms that I couldn't figure out how to get to, or solve half a puzzle but not the other half to get to a key and in some of those rooms I'm probably just playing badly and will figure out I could have done it the first time, but we'll see.

I really liked Psuedoregalia but the lack of an effective map system combined with so many places looking similar did make it a chore to play, especially when I had to put it down and pick up again later. I don't know if they've patched much in at all sadly, but other than that the game is absolutely fantastic. It has incredibly good movement mechanics.

(I tried looking details up but 90% of the discourse on it is people talking about how obsessed they are with the protagonist's thighs.)

It's like that across all formats. Consensus seems to be that these are supposed to be black raven's feathers (like on the boot trim) but the shader wasn't applied properly.
