He's ALWAYS been a dick. He lost his poo poo at a TV critic saying House Party was bad and ranted at them for like a minute on live Saturday night TV, he believes in and promotes The Secret like bullshit, he had a show on Sky called Noel's HQ that was a thinly veiled way for him to just yell at local government workers... He's a very competent presenter, just an awful person.

Also I'm sad to hear Chris Barrie went off the deep end, he always struck me as being a harmless nerd-in-a-shed type with his fondness for cars and trains and big engines in general.

It's the start of him going nuts but it's not particularly off the deep end yet, although the part where he talks about how "acts of common sense in this country may soon be viewed as acts of criminality" is a hint at the direction he's heading. It's not until later posts that he starts ranting about "the wheels of rampant globalisation, the enslavement of humanity and insane wokery" and the like.

Even YEARS before House Party, following the tragic and horrendously neglectful death of Michael Lush on rehearsals for the Late, Late Breakfast Show's "Give It A Whirl" segment (segment where ordinary members of public take part in dangerous stunts that had already resulted in a couple of injuries, in which the BBC cut all manner of corners when it comes to health + safety especially for this fatal incident), his first appearance on TV afterwards was an interview where he talked about the tragedy entirely in the ways that it affected him, almost seeming resentful that Lush's death had been this impedence to his burgeoning career. A truly odious creature.

It's like the third or fourth time he's made "Bespoke Jewellery Modeled on Bones" or whatever. He's decided that's his marketing gimmick with the episodes he does on pre-human hominid fossil ancestors. I do kind of wonder if Ape Skull Jewellery sells that much.

There's multiple episodes of House Party, especially in series 6+7 where he straight up rages on camera about technical things going wrong as well. At one point pulling an effects guy on camera to humiliate specifically after a gunge tank didn't go off properly. That's before you get into all the stories about him being incredibly creepy at any woman who was on Deal or No Deal, some of which he straight up invited to his house.

Apparently they only made a limited run of 50 ape skull rings and they sold out in 6 hours: https://sweetleafjewellery.com/products/sahelanthropus-tchadensis

Looks like they're actually underestimating the demand by a huge margin. :psyduck: poo poo, I think Milo may have actually struck on a good deal here where he gets a steady supply of archaeology-themed jewelry for himself at minimum risk

One of the best critiques of the whole fitness influencer/youtuber scene was one of the BroScienceLife videos. He starts ranting in character but also kinda breaking the 4th wall -- (paraphrased) "now you're stuck a a 'fitness' channel but actual fitness just requires doing the same thing over and over with very slow progression over a long period of time and once you've made about 10 videos you've probably said everything anyone needs to hear and so you then have to start doing 'what my day is like' vlogs"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDrEvUtHbL8

And the meta-joke is that he then makes another video focused on almost the exact same joke a few months later:

I think the difference from folk knowledge, around here anyway, is that the prior belief was they were mistakenly navigating by the moon, or drawn in over distance.
But the study seems to say that low altitude lights only seem to mess with insects at close range, causing them to keep their backs to the light source. Confusing the "up" direction for the insect.
