But have you considered whether the child murdered by the driver of that truck was riding an oversized bike?!?! Children riding oversized bikes are the scourge of our roadways!!
Just make reverse jets that suck carbon out of the air. These are not difficult ideas to have!

put a ramscoop on the jets and collect the compressed air and throw the bottle in a mine

If you want something done, do it yourself!
How many flights on a private jet do you have to take before you've emitted more carbon than the median human does in a lifetime? I bet it's not very many at all.

Private flights look bad but you also have to take the albedo increasing effect of contrails

i think the average carbon emission of a human, worldwide, is about 4.5 tons

according to some random website, on average, a plane produces a little over 53 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) per mile. probably a little less for a private jet. let's assume 40

so that's... 225 miles

lol

a private jet rental agency claims that the average private jet emits 10 lbs of CO2, so even with that number, you get 900 miles of private jet travel before you've exceeded the average CO2 production of a human being on earth in their entire lifetime

average CO2 per person from here: https://www.statista.com/statistics/268753/co2-emissions-per-capita-worldwide-since-1990/

I don't know if it's going to be easy to compare the two since each can vary a lot in size but it's probably a lot more than each person on the larger jet

well what if instead of planting trees as offsets we guarantee that X amount of people have been immiserated so that their lifestyle produces less carbon dioxide?

btw

737 max 7
- 172 people
- 116 feet long
- max takeoff weight 177000 lbs
- max fuel burn (fuel lbs/nominal range) 10.4 pounds per mile
- max fuel burn per person for a loaded jet 0.06 pounds per mile

gulfstream V
- one billionaire
- 96 feet long
- max takeoff weight 90000 lbs
- max fuel burn (fuel lbs/nominal range) 7.5 pounds per mile
- max fuel burn per person for a loaded jet 7.5 pounds per mile

air travel's bad in general but the degree to which its worse for billionaires is literally 100. it's over one hundred times worse.
