there was a japanese exchange student at my middle school that taught himself english purely through reading garfield, he had these huge like, bilingual omnibus editions at first and then moved up to just english ones and hed use his little translator thing to help him on words he didnt get yet. hed give us sushi at lunch and id buy him ice cream at the baskin robins. youth is beautiful. hug your friends
