I will miss Sting for doing cool poo poo but always putting over the young guys, and I will also miss Schiavone marking out like a little stinger every single time Sting did literally anything

I envy the hell out of Sting for being able to do crazy rear end spots at 64. Part of me really wanted to be a pro wrestler for most of my youth. In my senior year of high school we had our equivalent of the Oscars. In one skit I rode a tricycle out to the stage but basically did a bump where I wipe out and take a bump that involves basically throwing myself down the stairs. That was fun. I wish I could still do that poo poo. Thank you for living my dreams for me and then some Sting.

I have a ton of Sting memories but the one that sticks out the most is that he was a good choice in WCW/nWo World Tour on N64 because his cupped-hands-and-shout-Woo! taunt was fast and built up your Spirit meter faster than most other wrestlers in the game. He also descends from the rafters in the intro FMV: https://youtu.be/f0lXHuJVBiE?si=upNM0wVgJuhDq_td illcendiary fucked around with this message at 20:02 on Feb 29, 2024 |

It would be such an awesome little reference if they could swing it even just as a cameo. I'm also hoping Lex Luger gets a big cameo too.

Sting main evented the first live show I ever went to in '94 in a 6-man tag with Hogan and Dave Sullivan against the Faces of Fear. The first Nitro I attended ended with what I believe was the first "Sting hiding underneath a Sting mask" bit and then he took out the nWo after the show went off the air. It ruled. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgNc5ZRoNts&t=356s This AEW run has been incredible and I'm mostly just glad he's getting to retire on his terms after how underwhelming the brief WWE run was (everyone's fault but Sting's).

Sting is like half of the crazy bumps in AEW history. As someone who did not watch as a kid I really had no opinion on Sting and he has won me over so much in AEW by being everything except a nostalgia act

AEW has done more to cement Sting's status as a legend than any other promotion he has worked for. i would have been absolutely fine with Sting ruling as World Heavyweight Champion this run with how he was handled.

I love that he got that chance. It would have been a drat shame if his career had to end on his incredibly sad WWE run. Three total matches, from getting buried for Trips' ego over never having a shot during his prime, to getting hurt putting over Rollins. Would have been the worst cap to a strong career. Instead he helped take Darby Allen from drat good to one of the few cruiserweights in the entire industry who could hold a top title and not look out of place, and built up a ton of AEW's roster in the process.

I can only assume Sting hasn't had any single matches in AEW because he didn't feel comfortable. Of all the wrestlers of his generation, and those before, I have never seen any know their limits and their strengths like he did.

Good poo poo. Sting is the GOAT as all these vids and career proves. I remember watching him in some of my earliest memories in the late 80s and I still get that feeling watching him. I'm so glad he came to WCW, I never got to see him live till a couple years ago (the show Cody set himself on fire), it brought tears to my eyes. lamentable dustman fucked around with this message at 04:33 on Mar 1, 2024 |
