Listen here, funnyman!
I remember Jeepers Creepers being the quintessential "dog days of summer" movie complete with a release in August. Just one of those movies you watch on a lazy afternoon and I remember it for that.

I actually never saw any of the sequels but the original is a fine watch.

Pitch Black is so good. I watched it around the time it came out and was like, "holy poo poo this kicks rear end" and watched it again recently and was like, "holy poo poo this still kicks rear end"

Pitch Black is the first in the Riddick series and a great film though it's a mixed bag after that.

The video games though were cool and worth playing.

It’s a ridiculously solid little scifi horror movie. It’s definitely got some budgetary and aging issues and is 100% for big old nerds, but everything is 50% better than it needed to be.

I’m just mildly mad that If and Imaginary aren’t releasing at the same time, when that could have led to some wacky mix-ups at the theater.

Probably accurate.

Maybe it was the cinema I saw it in, but this has some of the worst lighting I've seen in a film in ages. Entire scenes where I couldn't tell who was present until they started speaking.

Film's okay otherwise, best joke is the title.

Saw Imaginary, it stinks. Tame even by PG-13 standards, and kept going after about 3 different points where it'd have made more sense to end.

The bear monster's name is Chauncey Bear, but they kept calling it CB, so I just kept thinking of former Detroit Pistons point guard Chauncey Billups. That's how dull it was, where I had to make it more amusing for myself thinking "instead of a teddy bear, imagine everyone's terrified of a early-00s NBA player".

drat. I had hopes for that one. Oh well.

Dawn of the Dead is coming back to theaters for the 45th anniversary. This sucker's still not streaming anywhere and it's hard to get a good physical copy of it, so I highly suggest checking it out in theaters if by some chance you've never seen the movie.

I will be seeing it in the movie theater inside the mall where it was filmed. Absolutely stoked.

Unfortunately it's at the indie theater by me which is a tiny single screen with crappy parking and nothing open after 10pm in the area if you want to grab something to eat that isn't the quality may vary concessions.

Lisa Frankenstein has a lot of great bits and and visual impulses, and is just fundamentally a pretty awesome idea, but I'm also absolutely convinced that there was a better film here that was killed in the edit. And I don't think Carla Guigno's performance works, which are words I never thought I'd say.

There's a really great gag in the film which is screaming out for an R rated cut too.

But yeah, honestly? I liked this. There's more ambiguity to it than I thought, particularly that final shot, and there's a lot of great lines and vibes.

I wish I hadn't seemingly missed its theatrical run :( I am a big Diablo Cody fan and the entire vibe felt right up my alley, but it came out at a time where we just couldn't make it to the theater. I'll watch it as soon as I can.

Yeah, the movie definitely feels like it was cut down from an R rating, it feels like it wants to do a lot more comedy gore than it gets to do.

It's still a very fun little movie with (your taste for Diablo Cody's particularly idiosyncratic writing as a factor) a lot of really great bits. But it'd go from "worth a watch" to "oh my god, track this down ASAP" if they got some Peter Jackson-esque goofy gore into it, because it feels like it wants that vibe. poo poo, there's an entire sequence I'm convinced they wanted to do a Braindead reference but got told to tone it down.
