I would say my parents are only maybe 10-20% as annoying as that and I think one vacation with them was enough to convince my sister's kids never to do it again The parents in law are lucky the OP didn't murder them

Yeah that's either "I'm leaving" or "I'm beating someone's rear end" territory. Like I'm a chill person but once I'm peopled-out I don't wanna be around anyone anymore. I am so glad my husband and various roommates over the years have understood. Christ. I'm so mad on behalf of this person. E and that's way above and beyond normal extrovert stuff.

Does he perhaps have any beans that he's buried in the woods? Background on this: OP is trying to go no-contact with this side of her family. quote:My mom and grandma texted me a few happy Easter texts and a text about my sister’s pregnancy reveal, and I had a huge emotional reaction, almost a panic attack, dealing with not responding. I guess that gets better with time? I have some resources/tools from therapy that I was able to use, but I didn’t expect to get so panicked about it. My stepdad also asked to come over (for the first time in I think 7 years) to pick something up and I said no. It was too suspicious. quote:And just to update, we were right about my stepdad being up to something more than just wanting to pick something up from me. He was trying to coordinate with my husband to meet him separately (at his office) to drop off an Easter basket from my mom. I told my stepdad he’s not to go to my husband’s office and that my husband would drop the items off on their porch, and that’s when it was revealed that an Easter basket was in play. I would have bet $ that was the case. So shady that not only was my stepdad trying to circumvent me, but also meet somewhere not at my house without me involved, and although my mom obviously made the basket she has no part in it. Like a textbook flying monkey move I guess. I told him I’m not accepting it. quote:A few hours after I told my stepdad that I wasn’t accepting the Easter basket from my mom, my husband dropped the stuff that my stepdad requested off on my parents porch. The stuff was a case of something handmade that I make and sell worth $180. My stepdad told me previously when he asked for it that he’d Venmo me for it. Well I guess he ghosted me because I haven’t heard from him and I haven’t gotten the $. Should I just let it go or ask him for the $? I don’t really need the $ but 180 is 180 and I could have sold it to someone else.

I don't know how many times I've had a dropdead hottie walk right up to me and ask, "so, what's up with the milk?"I guess it piques peoples curiosity. And, now that I think about it, in the context of a gay bar the drinking of milk could be seen as suggestive.

Missed connection: Kelsey at I/O Arcade Bar from r/madisonquote:Your name is Kelsey and you were at I/O Arcade Bar last night around 10:30pm. You shared an exciting moment with a tall, handsome man. We shared a smile and our eyes locked when I ordered from the bar. Later, I approached you in the back by the DDR machine. We touched and flirted but had technical issues exchanging phone numbers. quote:"technical issues exchanging numbers" take the hint dude 💀 quote:Luckily Kelsey has some good friends it sounds like. "Too drunk and needed some water before it was appropriate to flirt more" !?!??! Nothing sobers you up right away, certainly not water. This could have turned into a case of rape real quick if it weren't for Kelseys friends. This boy ain't right. Also some one take this guy's shovel before he digs himself deeper. quote:Life Hack: before phones people would write on paper with pens or pencils to communicate, I’m told that still works quote:No -- we definitely caught each other's attention. She tried to give me her number but we had nothing to write with. I told her that she should drink some water and that I would find her. I was with a friend who I came to play games with, and after one more game with him, I found that pen, but couldn't find her. quote:I wish you would stop commenting about matters you know nothing about. It's strange how commenters here seem to care so much. Read my other comments to learn that she tried to give me her number. She tried to play a game with me. She wasn't trying to get me to leave her alone. quote:One of us didn't have a phone, and the other one was too intoxicated and needed to drink some water before it was appropriate to flirt more. Some time came and went, but she and her friends had sadly left. I hope she got some rest. Sorry that you weren't there and feel compelled to be unhelpful. Take a hint, bucko

I get being a grandparent can be cool but carrying your family branch is a really lame point to focus on. If you don't get the chance but still want to be a grandparent you can always be involved in some elses life or volunteer with children.

I think people conceptualize their children as being in some way a part of them or at least a product of their lives that will outlive them, and see having a lineage as a small sort of immortality in a world where the real thing isn't possible. They should get over that instead of pressuring their children over it, but it seems straightforward enough.
