so a few years ago, my elementary-school music teacher and her husband were having an estate sale for his parents' stuff after they'd died. lots of cool antiques, some standard junk, all kinds of stuff. we've been friends with them for some time, so they showed us the walk-in closet where his parents' porn was stashed: 50 years of magazines, a bunch of film reels (8- and 16-mm). they were having an appraiser come out later. while we were peeking in there a local flea market weirdo who goes by Catman popped up and was like "WHAT ARE Y'ALL LOOKING AT" nothing, Catman. mind your own goddamn business. anyway, I forgot to ask them afterwards, but I imagine they made thousands of dollars from his parents' porn, so the circle is complete.

Apparently nearly-complete archives of Playboy magazine are up on eBay for $20,000. But I've got a feeling that the guy was able to get an "expert" who would give an extremely high appraisal for the value of the items, and the parents were so convinced that they would win that their lawyer didn't think to try and get a different appraiser to give a more realistic value (instead going on in on the tactic of vague handwaving in the direction of "some of this commercially-produced porn might have been showing illegal activity!!!").

Honestly if it has gotten to the point where someone is suing their parents, almost certainly the relationship has ALREADY deteriorated to the point where it is frankly not that big of a deal to be suing their parents.
