Perhaps the double-bill & drive-in culture was, but Germany, Sweden, Italy, France, they all had thriving exploitation industries, both imported & domestic. Obviously my poster would not have been used in America, but it's the kind of thing American producers would ship overseas with their films. No kidding. If people think American exploitation movies were racy and violent, they should see Italian movies from the era. Cannibal Holocaust practically defies description.
