Problem Description: Hi I got a Chromebook and I am trying to install ubuntu on it so I can run a Windows emulator and Steam and I followed this guide: http://jeanlouisnguyen.blogspot.com...-os-on.html?m=1 Everything worked until this step (step 20 in the guide): cd /usr/local/bin sudo cp startxfce4 startelementary sudo nano startelementary When I try to edit the startelementary code to change "exec startxfce4" to "exec startelementary" using the sudo nano startelementary it says: "sudo nano startelementary" does not work, it gives this error "nano: error while loading shared libraries: libncursesw.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" Attempted Fixes: Looking this error up suggests that it means I installed a 64 bit version of the libncursesw (package? library? i don't know), so I tried to install a 32 bit version as well using "sudo apt-get install lib32ncurses" in the xfce4 linux terminal but that didn't work (maybe i need to delete the 64 bit version first)? Recent changes: None Operating system: ChromeOS System specs: Dell Chromebook 11, Haswell Intel processor, 4 GB Ram Location: United States I have Googled and read the FAQ: Yes I really am not sure what I'm doing and figured this guide would be flawless, which it was until this very last step. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks! Bwee fucked around with this message at 15:18 on Sep 4, 2014 |

Alternatively, is there a way to undo/delete everything I did so I can try again with the guide? Maybe I entered something incorrectly.

The link to the guide you are using is broken. Also, with that hardware it is unlikely you are going to have a great experience running anything very demanding, even using Linux-native Steam. Are you able to boot the Chromebook from a thumb-drive?
