I read somewhere that the guy made Monopoly to show how bad monopolies are, but the point gets ruined when everyone WANTS them, to win the game. House rules go against the stated purpose of the game, to make players feel as helpless to corporate interests as possible.

The best board game is The Game Of Things. It's like Apples To Apples, except you write in your own answers on little strips of paper and the reader tries to guess who wrote what. It helps you figure out which of your friends are horrible monsters that you'd never expect.

Speaking of I feel like one of the only people in my age group that thinks Cards Against Humanity is hugely asinine. Everyone always plays the same cards and the expansions stopped being funny and just went balls deep on wacky nonsensicality.

Hahahaha, I have absolutely no memory of voting on the last thread. Also, I think it was mentioned in the last thread, but Charles Dance plays Caligula, the guy who turns Vlad into a vampire in the upcoming Dracula movie, and I laugh every time I remember that. It's definitely true that the quality of the game decreases as the outrageousness of the card increases. What was once a chance to be witty turns into just hoping you get the most out-there card.

(Baldurdash is a game where you have a weird word and everyone comes up with definitions and then tries to guess the real one, for reference)

I played this once and had a good time and have no desire to ever play it again because I've seen all the cards and the entire appeal is the novelty of uncovering what's on them. Yeah yeah expansion packs but who cares.

I only have one blog. It's the one with the short title (I'm still going to do something with "10 Reasons Not to Kill Yourself" someday, though) . I'm a little sad I didn't vote in the last thread. Dating is rad. Frank is my favorite movie of 2014 (that I've seen so far). I like the extended versions of The Lord of the Rings even though I think you're all right to hate them. I didn't mention my penis, but I think this covers the majority of my posts here.
