Goldbergs WCW theme, also Hogans Real American was used in American Dad and a TV spot for a Spike (for Brooke of all people), so ol' Rick or his label pimps that out for a fee. Makes you wonder why he didn't use it in WCW if that's the case though.

Stan Hansen's theme has LYRICS (or I guess more accurately a lyrical version)?

Hulk Hogan once used a lyric-less version of Bonnie Tyler's Ravishing as a theme tune.

What I find the most fascinating is that Japanese TV in the 70s was almost identical to American TV in the 70s if that Sunrise video is anything to go by.

IMO the most underrated of puro entrance themes, Akiyama's 'Shadow Explosion': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNDvKoooOkI edit: The "All Japan song" from Baba's era was actually NTV's all-purpose sports theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siXhTV-Gn5Q <--- this person's channel is mind-boggling Ditch fucked around with this message at 00:04 on Jul 13, 2015 |

Kawada's original theme (not the more well known Holy War) is from the Baribari Densetsu anime. If you have a Nico account it's the third song on here: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm4429123 Kobashi's original theme is Sniper by Masaki Matsubara: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1Eu0r0c1zU Spermgod fucked around with this message at 00:04 on Jul 13, 2015 |

I came in to post Taue coming out to Malmsteen, but yeah Shadow Explosion is the manliest piece of music ever composed. I used to have a long gone YT video saved of a few dudes performing Sniper in a tiny pub and it was wonderful. It was like Japanese Scorch's PFG TV.

Really struggling to find out who Holy War is by, given it seems like nobody else around that time got in house themes I can't imagine Kawada did. I've seen some sources cite the artist "DDT" but as far as I can tell that's just the artist name AJPW would release their theme music CDs under which doesn't really mean anything.

The "Inoki bom-ba-ye" song was originally done for Ali as part of a movie about the "rumble in the jungle" fight, and Inoki started using it (with the name changed) after their fight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEQbxdi0VPM

Yeah, I got a copy of one of their early '90s albums from Highspots many years ago and they were some band that covered everyone's themes. Worth it for Engrish covers of Danger Zone and Servin' Hard Time. Tamon Honda coming out to GBH was pretty great too, if not exactly fitting. hunnert car pileup fucked around with this message at 00:17 on Jul 13, 2015 |

Here is Booker T's theme song being used on perfume commercial sketch from an early 90s Kids in the Hall sketch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-CtKIo7olM I also remember hearing Hardcore Holly's music (minus the best part HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW??) on several Spike TV commercials. Same thing with the Hardy's theme music on some lovely local radio commercials.

^^ Sternness is weak poo poo compared to Shadow Explosion The Holly's music was also in DodgeBall IIRC. And TNN played a bunch of WCW production themes back when they televised NHRA events, including Benoit's awful music (which also has awful lyrics).
