Ignoring the ‘original character’ comment as either a misunderstanding or a red herring, because I don’t think they’d waste Esposito on a newly invented character, I think he’d make an okay Doom, provided he hammed it up appropriately and didn’t play the same version of the same character he’s been playing since breaking bad

Marvel wastes good actors in incidental parts all the time invented or not

X-men ep 8 - Yaknow, it took a second pass for me to realise that none of the people at Roberto's mother's party were part of the Sentinel Prime Legion for the simple reason that they too rich to care about any (imagined) mutant threat. They had no reason to submit to the process.

That is a worthy observation.

I wonder how many unrelated super villain plans got ruined by Magneto's big EMP attack? Awful lot of useless death lasers out there right now. Green Goblin would he dead if he was flying around New York when this happened.

Isn't he Out of Commission? I might be misremembering but didn't he get portal'd during that whole "Death Sending to another Dimention of Gween Stacy Mary Jane" business?

Forget the villains. They now need to get to work on holding the funeral for Tony Stark.

Wow I totally forgot about that. I remember now in Spiderman TAS for some reason his suit stops working and he's basically crippled and helplEss without it. At least that's my memory of the big arc with Spidey and Stark and Cap and The Beyonder.

(Maybe this is always the case, I have no knowledge of Iron Man. But Charles Xavier periodically can walk again in the comics so I assume Stark also varies)

P.S.

Related, I know that stuff with the Beyonder is based on a comic. In the comic when Doom takes his power, is he eventually thwarted by his own weaknesses? In Spiderman TAS Doom's mind just can't handle having so much power, his every neurosis and simple human weakness does him in. I'm just curious now cuz I was told the whole "Symbiote drives you crazy idea" originated with TAS and I'm now curious what else it might have invented.

By this point I'd imagine Tony's invented tech that is shielded/immune to EMP fuckery, he's probably fine and/or drunk.

Shocked I tell you
Stark can generally move out of his armour fine. Though if his armour shut down while he was in it, he probably wouldn’t be able to move.

Still I agree he would probably have EMP protection.

I’m assuming when he got upgraded to the Extremis armor he was probably immune to EMP stuff

I wonder how he'd feel about the aspect of 'guy using native magic in an attempt to wizard his dead mother back to life' in this casting

I presume people are forgetting that the various Marvel cartoons in the mid 90s had a loose shared universe, meaning that it's not the MCU Stark in 97, it'd be this guy:

And he had a whole chest plate thing that kept his damaged heart going, so an EMP might gently caress him up, IIRC

I used to watch that A LOT. I think aside from FF, there was a Hulk one?
And Ghost Rider used to show up all over the place.

God, I want mullet Tony Stark and Ghost Rider to make cameos, please.

I remember he was Baron Mordo in a couple eps of Spiderman TAS, too. Strange he was Mordo and not Dormammu but oh well.
