It's pornography so there's not going to be much complaint in the media, much like with mindgeek, but it's incredibly dodgy how much power the banking industry / payment providers have to censor the internet. Completely unaccountable to the public and able to shut down something as popular as porn.

before reading the article, i figured "its probably credit card processing" and sure enough it says that in the article. apparently, that's an issue for porn sites; banks check up on them and if they don't agree with their content (slave/bdsm/scat, what have you), then they'll cancel ties with you. i vaguely remember a scene from that James Franco documentary about Kink.com. something about them complaining about the billing system and content. the onlyfans issue is probably a continuation from the pornhub issue: community driven storefronts that decide to post whatever their individual storefront fans want turnd into "the wild west of content", bringing on some unsightly poo poo (pun intended). i know kink had some issues and has to downsize and leave 'the armory' but they still don't accept Bitcoin, while other similar community storefront sites like manyvids do accept Bitcoin. and credit cards, still. possibly even the OG sure if this kind, clips4sale, does that, also. they probably change their terms and conditions more often to continue as a marketplace. also they probably don't mind being considered seedy and not as mainstream as onlyfans has became. considering how onlyfans wants to go for a patreon clone makeover in the name of getting more seed money or whatever, they'll probably just fall into obscurity in the next 5 years. hell, even YouTube channels now have the option to have "membership only" content. no need for onlyfans premium content if nudity isn't even allowed. just use YouTube or Patreon instead. also, most these onlyfans models probably make bank off premium Snapchat accounts as secondary income, anyhow. The public/Twitter has latched onto the investor narrative, and that's borne out by recent articles (https://www.axios.com/onlyfans-investors-struggle-9cc92523-6607-40ad-9893-4175e7966b52.html) but I agree. I can't see the owners willfully cutting themselves off from revenue for what is the site's main draw.

I imagine it's probably equivalent to the line in the sand on Japanese porn.
