It's not $1000, but Costco at least has them at $1499 with the free five year warranty. I got them to price match the one I bought a bit ago for $1599 (and it hasn't even been delivered yet lol)

I haven't bought a TV in...a very long time. I think I paid $800 for a 42" LED screen, and it was a great deal at the time. What are the key details/features these days? I see OLED, Mini-LED, QLED, etc etc. I've read a few things about it, but I'd like some value judgment on the topic. I'm not an avid screen enthusiast with a home theater room; this is going up in the family room. Plenty of Bluey, occasionally a video game. The two most important considerations I would have is that it would need to do well in a room with a lot of ambient light, and function well as a display that spends 99% of its time running off a PC. (I run our TV today as a monitor for a PC and access all the streaming services from a web browser, as well as all the media I have saved.)

Those speakers are similarly priced to the furniture in the room, a genuine Eames lounge chair is $6-10k. If your living room is big enough to comfortably fit La Scalas, which are the size of a refrigerator, it shouldn't be an issue. Like everything in audio it's possible to spend between 20 and infinity dollars on any piece of it. Slim towers can be an easy way to go, look decent if you leave the grilles on and a lot of them aren't super expensive. Check out Polk or Jamo on the lower end.

I don't remember the details, but the reputation of being extremely flat came from the original NS-10M, which was ubiquitous in recording studios for literally decades and even Yamaha's own page about the speaker says it isn't true: https://hub.yamaha.com/proaudio/recording/a-history-of-yamaha-studio-reference-monitors/ In fact, the NS-10M's were so ubiquitous specifically because they made poorly-mastered music sound like total poo poo. The thought was that if you could make your mix sound good on them, they would sound good on anything. At some point, that turned into "every recording studio has these so they must be good." The modern ones are much better, but still not particularly flat compared to other studio monitors. And whether you actually want a flat frequency response for listening depends on a ton of factors.
